Voters of Lake County show great support to seniors once again

We wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to the voters of Lake County for your support of the Senior Services Levy, Issue 5.  Passage of the levy reflects the community’s commitment and sense of responsibility to its senior population and ensures continued critical services to keep seniors safe in their own homes.

Issue 5 passed with 75% voter approval, one of the highest ratings since it first appeared on the ballot in 1992.  The Senior Services Levy funds many important programs including home delivered and congregate meals, home repairs and modifications, case management services, Adult Protective Services, and the Volunteer Guardian Program, to name a few.

“The passage of Issue 5 ensures that older adults continue to receive the services they need to remain healthy and independent in their own homes and communities,” said Commissioner John Hamercheck.

“Our senior citizens deserve high level services and programs throughout our great County.  I am grateful for the hard work and determination of the volunteers and committee members who donated countless hours working on the campaign, said Commissioner John Plecnik.  This is a testament to the great work that can be accomplished when we come together.”

“We are truly thankful and humbled by the support from the great people of Lake County,” said Commissioner Mark Tyler  “Thank you for your vote of confidence.”
