Our Focus & Mission

Who We Are

The Lake County Council on Aging of Ohio is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the needs of older adults, people with disabilities, their families and caregivers. We provide a range of community-based services that can enhance quality of life, promote choice, and help people remain in their homes for as long as possible.

Since 1972, we have remained committed to our mission, vision and values, establishing ourselves as Lake County’s most trusted resource for older adults.

Our Mission

The Council on Aging provides aging adults and their support system with services and opportunities that enable them to achieve an optimal, self-defined, quality of life.

The vision of the Council on Aging is to be recognized by the community as its most valuable resource for aging adults and their support system. In conjunction with community partners, the Lake County Council on Aging will provide the highest level of education, advocacy, services and support.

The Council on Aging shall:
• be fair, honest and impartial
• honor privacy and self-determination
• respect diversity, individuality and community
• embraces all aspects of aging

The Lake County Council on Aging is funded by the Lake County Senior Services Levy, the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging through the Older Americans Act, the United Way of Lake County, various grants, client donations, and community contributions.
