[April 10, 2019 – Mentor, OH]

The Lake County Council on Aging will partner again with the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging who administers the SFMNP, a program funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) and the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA). Eligible participants of the SFMNP will receive $50.00 in coupons to purchase fresh locally grown fruits, vegetables, herbs, and honey from participating farmers; and now that spring has arrived people are wondering when the vouchers for the SFMNP will be available.

It is not known at this time when vouchers will be available or what the process will be for the 2019 season. According to the WRAAA website, SFMNP applications will be available on a first come, first serve basis or by lottery. Updates on the SFMNP will be posted here!

Just a reminder that applicants can only apply for the coupons in the county in which they live and at a location specified by their zip code. Proof of address will be requested from each consumer. Participants must be 60 years of age or older and have a combined household income of 185% or less of the federal poverty level guidelines.
