Outstanding Senior Awards to be presented to 18 individuals

Mentor, OH:    After a three-year hiatus, Senior Day at the Mall is back!  Partner members of the Senior Services Levy Committee are proud to announce that the event will return to Great Lakes Mall on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Presenting sponsor for the event is the Cleveland Clinic.  Main sponsors include the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging and Mentor Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Each year in May, we recognize Older American’s month to encourage and recognize the countless contributions that older adults make in our community. In celebration of this month, Lake County seniors are invited to come for a special day of activities, annual awards and great fellowship. $1 tickets are now available at any of the Lake County Senior Centers or at the door on the day of the event.

Guests will be welcomed beginning at 8:30 a.m. with light refreshments and coffee, followed by Bingo at 9:30 a.m. Dozens of sponsors and vendors will be on hand throughout the day to offer educational information and material on services available for seniors and their caregivers. Demonstrations throughout the day will include chair volleyball, reiki, paint pouring and balance class. The popular Outstanding Senior Citizen awards will be presented by the Lake County Commissioners and is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. The program will be emceed by Lake County Council on Aging, CEO, Joe Tomsick.  The following individuals are being honored during the ceremony:

After the awards, “Elvis” entertains for one hour beginning at 12:30 p.m. There will be a door prize raffle drawing along with some other surprises!

About the SOS Levy Committee: The SOS Levy Committee works to raise funds to support the Lake County Senior Services Levy, which has been operating since 1992.
