[June 12, 2019– Mentor, OH]

Lake County Council on Aging is hosting a ServeOhio Day project on Friday, June 21st at the Eastlake Senior Center located at 1580 East 332nd from 10am to 3pm.

The ServeOhio Day project will engage youth and seniors in a JOY Collaboration of making handcrafted patriot greeting cards together to be delivered to our Meals on Wheels clients for the 4th of July Holiday.  This is an opportunity for young and old to spend time together and get to know each other, while creating something that will bring joy to others.  It is a meaningful inter-generational service project to benefit the Meals on Wheels seniors in Lake County.

We are inviting you and your children, your parents, or anyone who is either under 21 or over 60, to share in the joy.  We will provide the card making supplies and direction along with a pizza lunch and refreshments.

This is a great opportunity for students who need service hours for their school, their confirmation or National Honor Society.  We’re happy to verify service and provide documentation.

If someone would like to participate, please register by calling 440-205-8111 or emailing LLLewellyn@Lccoa.org.  It’s going to be fun!!

The Lake County Council on Aging enhances the quality of life for seniors in Lake County through the information and assistance services of the Aging and Disability Resource Center, Meals on Wheels delivery, Social Worker support, Homemaker program, Grocery Shopping and Friendly Visiting services.

Currently, in addition to the Joy Collaboration project, Eastlake Meals on Wheels volunteers are needed. Volunteers dedicate at least one day during the week from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm to deliver from our Eastlake nutrition center to surrounding communities.

All opportunities promise to be a rewarding experience in which you will see the first-hand impact of your meaningful service and thoroughly enjoy your time volunteering.

You are invited to join us and begin making a difference in the lives of seniors.  Please call Linda Llewellyn at the Council on Aging at 440-205-8111, ext. 228 or email Lllewellyn@lccoa.org for more information.
