Wendell Walker

1995

It is obvious from the extensive list of organizations that he shares his time, talents and leadership with, Wendell Walker had devoted his life to public service. In other words, he works hard through many avenues to improve the quality of life for the people of Lake County.

Wendell had worked for 35 years ad Director of the Clinical Laboratory at N.E. Ohio General Hospital in Madison. In conjunction with serving through the medical profession, he has devoted much of his time to assisting organizations that help people.

It would be difficult to list every organization that Wendell has contributed to because there are more than 30. Also, he is still currently serving nearly 20 of those. A few examples of the scope of his contributions are: his serving as President of Painesville City Council, as a board member for the Salvation Army, Neighboring, United Way, Society Bank, L.E.D.C., Northeastern Ohio General Hospital, the Painesville Chamber of Commerce, and the Lake County YMCA.

Wendell shares his expertise with Catholic Charities, the Catholic Commission for Lake and Geauga Counties, and the American Cancer Society. In the past he has worked on behalf of Lake County children, the disadvantaged, small business owners, and for the beautification of Lake County. In his “spare” time, Wendell can be heard on local radio station WBKC.
