Mildred Teuscher

Mildred (Millie) Teuscher, 70, provided fourteen years of distinguished, dedicated service as a Lake County commissioner before retiring December 31, 2002. Her involvement as a councilwoman for the City of Mentor prompted her to become the county’s first female commissioner. Under her guidance and leadership, the county flourished with numerous office relocations and renovations for various county departments and agencies, providing the county€۪s citizens with better services and facilities.

Capital improvements were high on Commissioner Teuscher’s agenda; yet, she also played an active roll in the creation of the countywide enterprise zone, retaining and creating thousands of jobs in Lake County. As a commissioner, Mildred Teuscher also was instrumental in providing a means of funding for the Lake County Senior Citizens Coalition. Millie was and continues to be a major voice and supporter of the senior centers and the Lake County Council on Aging.

Mildred Teuscher has been involved in numerous countywide projects that have made lifestyles more acceptable to everyone. Mrs. Teuscher€۪s caring, sincere manner has been displayed through her impartiality and fairness she has shown others. During her tenure as commissioner, many accomplishments took place in Lake County, enabling residents to benefit the most.

Millie Teuscher€۪s dedication and compassion to others is seen through her involvement in the Lake County Kidney Foundation, Lake Hospital System, Lake County Visitor’s Bureau, Mentor Rotary Club, Quota Club, March of Dimes, Muscular Dystrophy Association and Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency.
