Frank Ashton

2011

Many Lake County institutions have benefited from Frank’s hard work. As a Madison Township Trustee, he obtained over one million dollars of funding which lead to fresh water for Madison residents south of I-90, an addition to the Madison Senior Center, and improved facilities at Bill Stanton Park. In 2005 Frank, along with Fred Close and Pastor Steve Fisher, started the Madison Food Center and in 2007, Frank brought a program to Lake County called Equip Your Neighborhood Cleveland. From those establishments, over 40,000 Madison residents in need received food and over 1,000 pieces of durable medical equipment were collected. Since turning 60, Frank has won the Leadership in Education Award from the Buckeye Association of School Administrators, the Ohio Senior Citizens Hall of Fame Award for 2009 from the Ohio Council on Aging, the Best of Show Award from the Mentor Arts Council, and three first place Painting Awards from Lake County Art Shows. Whether teaching art at Lakeland, cooking Thanksgiving dinners for the entire community, or working with the Madison Ministerial Association, where ever Frank goes, goodness is sure to follow.
