Ralph Friedman

2012

Ralph E. Friedman’s life is a testimony to his philosophy that we are all on this earth to help one another. Through his dedicated volunteer work as a Meals on Wheels driver, he has delivered hot lunches to homebound seniors twice a week since 1992. As a volunteer with Hospice of the Western Reserve, Ralph has provided company and care to the terminally ill, and respite to their exhausted caregivers for over 20 years. Ralph has also donated over 108 pints of blood through the Red Cross, and he provides transportation for the members of East Shore Humanitarian Church, taking them to and from church, as well as to medical appointments.

Ralph also does his part for the environment, and handles all of the recyclables for his 27-unit Brownstone at Breckenridge where he resides with his wife, Carol. “When people need help,” Carol said, “Ralph is there to help them.” He has also volunteered for the Cleveland Playhouse, the Western Reserve Historical Society, the Federation for Community Planning, and RSVP of Lake County. His servant heart and desire to live a useful and purposeful life is not just philosophy and ideology, Ralph truly walks the walk.
