Martha Setlock
Martha
Setlock, 67, goes above and beyond the “call of duty” when working for the
American Legion Auxiliary programs that benefit veterans, children, schools and
the community.
Martha says she could not do any of the activities
without the members of Palmer-Roberts American Legion Auxiliary Unit 214; yet,
the members feel that Martha’s leadership, guidance and hands-on approach make
things happen.
Food drives for families in need have taken place
the past four years, raising over $5000 for the cause and ensuring that five to
seven families each year have the essentials they need.
As a
former teacher, Martha makes sure that needy children in the
Presently, Martha serves as President American Legion
Auxiliary, Unit 214, where she has been a member since 1999.
She is a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles
#2300 and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW #4358.
Martha also finds time to work as a poll worker and
a volunteer in the City of
Since 2005, Martha has
received numerous awards from the National American Legion Auxiliary for
articles she has written, as well as public relations work she has done on the
subject of patriotism.
