HEAP

We offer free Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) support to Lake County residents to better understand, apply and follow up for the popular federally funded program.

HEAP is administered by the Ohio Department of Development, Office of Community Service (OCS) and helps eligible low-income Ohioans meet the high costs of home heating.

Lake County Council on Aging case managers will help folks understand the federal funding levels, assist with the application paperwork and guide them through the information needed about HEAP.

The Council’s case managers and resource specialists will provide information by telephone or email, send applications to Lake County seniors, and make in-home visits to homebound older adults and younger disabled people who need help with the application process.
