Helen Kuta is a "doer".  Despite being a very busy woman, she takes on new projects when she sees a real need in the community.  That would explain whey she is instrumental in the success of so many worthwhile programs in Lake County, including respite programs and hospice support groups.  Along with her husband, Helen has been a key volunteer for the Hospice Program in Lake County since 1977.  She now oversees both medical and patients' libraries for Hospice House of Cleveland.

Mrs. Kuta serves on the Mentor Senior Center Advisory Board.  During her presidency, the center dramatically improved by moving to a larger facility and increasing membership of 1,100 in just on year.

Part of Helen's effectiveness as a leader is her ability to 'listen with a third ear.'  She tries to take into consideration more than one point of view and blend different ideas into a workable whole.  Helen is a problem solver with a positive outlook, always looking in the best way toward the future.
