Russell Adams

1995

What makes a city, village or township feel like “home” to the people who live there? It is the efforts of people like Russell Adams that can transform a point on the map into a community, a place to call home.

Russell Adams served as Perry Township Trustee for 39 years. This office requires a vote of the people and Russell undoubtedly had their confidence and approval. Farming and serving as Township Trustee were his full-time jobs. Russell’s efforts in the area of zoning were instrumental in maintaining the peaceful, semi-rural community we know today.

As trustee, and without much money to work with, he supervised the road department and was on call 24 hours a day. He made sure the roads were plowed in winter, kept in repair, and that the cemetery was mowed and maintained. The job of trustee is a hands-on job requiring more than 20 hours of time every week including evenings and weekends.
