Louise Keeter

2002

Louise (Lou) Keeter is the woman to call upon when something needs to be done, done right and in a timely manner! She has created a legacy of extending assistance and kindness in her organized volunteer activities and with friends and acquaintances in the hospital, including those that are not easy to get along with or that few other people would visit. Lou’s skills in the Accounting and Payroll departments at Diamond Shamrock, as well as the Head Bookkeeper in the Lake County Auditor’s office have proven beneficial to Lou in her role as treasurer of the Advisory Board at the Mentor Senior Center. Her involvement in the Mentor Senior Center doesn’t stop there as she volunteers in the kitchen, helping to prepare meals for senior citizens. For the past twelve years, Lou has performed with the Mentor Music Makers. She is a volunteer at Hospice House in Cleveland and also with the Mentor’s Performing Arts Concert series as an usher. On election days, one can find Lou Keeter working at a precinct. In past years, she worked diligently on the campaign to build a fitness and indoor pool in the City of Mentor. With the Lake County Senior Services Levy Campaign in 1997 and 200, Lou was an advocate for the levy.

She is a lifelong member of the First Church Congregational in Painesville and is the treasurer of the church’s Fidelitus Class. Lou is a faithful blood donor to the Red Cross. In her spare time, Lou Keeter is a card player, an avid reader, a theater and movie buff, and a golfer. She has done extensive traveling, including France, England, Scotland Germany, Alaska and Hawaii.

Lou Keeter was honored as Mentor Senior Citizen of the Year in 1998.
