John Crocker

John Crocker, 68, has made an effort throughout his long public service career to get to know the people of Lake County and to impact their lives individually. As the Lake County Treasurer, he has provided investment income to the county’s General Fund, helping to reduce taxes and provide assistance to taxpayers, particularly seniors, who have financial difficulties, enabling them to use a payment plan to ease property taxes.

John’s willingness to get involved and make a difference has impacted the Lake County Historical Society, where as a member of the Board of Directors he assisted in securing a grant to repair “Shadyside,” the Society’s headquarters. As a member and current president of the Lake County Council on Aging Foundation, John has advanced the mission of the organization and strives to build a solid foundation, ensuring much success in the future.

One of John?s greatest satisfactions is with Camp Sue Osborne. Under his advisement, a once-in-a-lifetime camp experience is provided for mentally and physically challenged children who were never given this opportunity before.

The Painesville Rotary, Lake County Development Council and Amvets Post 109 also benefit from John’s good will. When others are considering retirement, John continues to serve his community as an elected official and volunteer, making the county a better place to live.

John is the recipient of the 2005 Outstanding Senior Citizen Award, the 1998-2005 Certificate of Achievement from the Board of the Lake County Commissioners and the 2002 Certificate of Recognition from the Lake County Development Council as well as membership recognition from the Government Finance Officers Association.
