David Mackey, 74, is a gentleman who always has a smile and a willingness to assist others. Dave reaches out to the senior population as publisher of the Lake County Council on Aging Bridge since the July/August 1985 edition, and as a Mason, he is editor of the Northeast Ohio Masonic publication The Scottish Rite News. Dave is one of the oldest newspaper veterans in Lake County, beginning his career at the Painesville Telegraph in 1946.  After several years in advertising executive positions at The News-Herald and at Rowley Publications in Lake, Ashtabula and Geauga counties, Dave was manager of the Lake County Telegraph from 1976-1985.

Upon early retirement, Dave founded C.L.M. Associates with his wife, Carol and sons, Craig and Todd. Under Dave?s guidance and expertise, Bridge has won 8 National Mature Media awards since 1992 while The Scottish Rite News has been judged The Brother Franklin Best Publication for 7 consecutive years.

Dave continues to touch the lives of many others by being a charter member of the Lake County Kidney Foundation where currently he is Vice President of the Board and Chairman of the Grant in Aide Committee. In this position, he provides quick and accurate assessment of applications for grants that reduce the time needed for patients to acquire medications that are vital to their quality of life.

Dave has been recognized for his dedication to the community as the 1999 recipient of the Ohio Council of Deliberations Masonic Meritorious Service Award, 1999 Helping Hands Award for Service to Elderly in Lake County (Council on Aging) and a 2004 Meritorious Service Award (Council on Aging).
