One of Betty Braun's favorite mottos is "Keep on the sunny side of life".  That is exactly what she has been doing since her retirement from a career in real estate.  A warm and friendly person, Mrs. Braun spends much of her time contributing her knowledge to organizations in the community.

For over 10 years, Mrs. Braun has volunteered through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.  She spends two days a week assisting residents at an Alzheimer's Center, and teaches crafts and music at an assisted-living facility.  Betty is also active at the Painesville Senior Center, where she has held many leadership positions.  She is a charter member and the first director of the Golden Serenaders.

Betty Braun is very involved in Election Day activities.  She is a precinct official and voting booth worker.  Her presence at the polls is so appreciated that the Secretary of State presented her with an award for 50 years of consecutive voting.

Mrs. Braun is instrumental in organizing many activities that are held at her church, St. Mary's Parish in Painesville.  She coordinates the Thanksgiving Dinner that her church serves every year to hundreds of people.  She is also the manager of Bingo.
