The Lake County Council on Aging has been meeting the needs of the elderly and their families, caregivers, neighbors and employers for over 30 years.  Established in 1972, the private, nonprofit agency has grown to become a vital resource for senior citizens.

The elderly population of Lake County is growing at a rate 10 times faster than the rest of the population.  Approximately 30,000 of  all Lake County residents (about 13%) are age 65 and older.

The agency's 45 staff members and more than 500 volunteers provide a continuum of services - from job placement for those older persons looking for work to Meals-On-Wheels for the frail and homebound, the Lake County Council on Aging strives to meet the rapidly changing needs of this growing population.

The needs of the elderly and anyone sharing life's journey with them change as they pass through different phases of their lives.  As a result, the Lake County Council on Aging grows and changes to meet those needs, providing in-home services, employment services, opportunities for socialization, information and support.

Home is the most important place to a senior citizen.  More than just a structure, a senior's home is alive with memories.  The focus of our services help seniors remain in their own homes for as long as possible.
