The Vial of Life (VOL) can help during an emergency! The Vial of Life is a magnetized pouch, placed on your refrigerator, that contains emergency medical information.

It includes items such as your medical conditions, where you keep your prescriptions bottles, any allergies you have, who your doctor is, and who you want contacted if you are taken by ambulance to the hospital. The VOL is used by emergency medical personnel (911) when they are called to your home. Any senior wanting a Vial of Life only needs to call the Lake County Council on Aging at 440-205-8111.

The Vial of Life provides emergency personnel with your vital medical information at the time of crisis.

All of Lake County's emergency medical responders are familiar with the Vial of Life and look for it when responding to a 911 call. The Council on Aging will assist you in completing the Vial of Life as well as provide you with the necessary materials and placement instructions. To apply for this program, give us a call at 440-205-8111 or use the form on the LCCoA website ( http://www.lccoa.org/pages/vial-of-life.htm ) to submit your information to us. We will then contact you to start the process of creating a Vial of Life.”
